Why did you choose to go to Liege, Belgium?

Because the Master I wanted to study was at the University of Liège. Furthermore, a friend of me went there for Erasmus and he had a really good time.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I did not receive any scholarship (I was not Erasmus, I went to study a Master).

What is the student lifestyle like in Liege?

Good party but not much to do during the day... the weather is not good but with all the international students you may have a very good time.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Liege to other students?

It is fun, so many international students and it is just in the centre of Europe: you can travel a lot.

What is the food like?

Regular. Boulettes are very good (especially at Café Lequet).

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Liege?

No, there are many websites to this aim.

How much does it cost to live in Liege?

It is really cheap. For example, the accommodation amounts to 300-400€ a month (even less) if you want to live in a Kot, 500€ if you choose the Student Hotel. Transport: one-year-card for the bus only for 112€.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

Yes, indeed. There are courses of French, German, English...at the University.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Liege from your city?

I live in Madrid: from Liège to Madrid I can fly from Charleroi (Ryanair) or Brussels (Iberia and others). Average of 120-150€ (maybe cheaper). From Liège to the airport you pay 5€ with the Go pass (if you are under 26yo).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Liege?

Le Carré (more tan 20bars), it is fun.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Liege?

Café Lequet (Boulettes, specialty in Liège), and many restaurants around the city.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Cathedral, place st Lambert, botanic park, the river...
