Kessel-Lo Park

Ten minutes away from the city centre by bike an enormous park can be found in the town of Kessel-Lo. Since sunny days aren´t all that common in Belgium, when it´s warm outside and the sun is shining, I recommend spending the day with friends at this beautiful park.

Messing around, taking lots of photos and - the perfect plan for a Sunday - having a picnic! Who wouldn´t enjoy a picnic with friends, with an obligatory bottle of wine and plenty of laughs? Bicycles are of course not permitted in the area, since there are often lots of children around.

There´s a bar and two lakes, on one of which you can hire boats for quite a reasonable price. In the summer months, the outdoor swimming pool is open, and the prices are also very reasonable.
