Why did you choose to go to Hannover, Germany?

Mostly it was an accident. From the places which left to choose for me, Hannover was the most interesting. Also I wanted to learn a little bit of German language because it can be useful for me.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

They gave me 1390 euros once for the whole semester.

What is the student lifestyle like in Hannover?

Students are very ambitious and diligent but they like to party as well. Students in Hannover are very social and helpful for the others, especially those from abroad. They commit with exchange students very quickly.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Hannover to other students?

Yes! Of course.

  1. You can really learn something (teachers are very competent and respect students).
  2. It is a really nice place with a lot to see in the city and around (you can use your semester ticket not only in Hannover but in all Lower Saxony and also going to Hamburg and Bremen).

What is the food like?

Food is ok, in the shops you can buy everything from all over the world. There are many international restaurants (many italians, greeks, asian... ) so everybody can find something for hisself.

How did you find your accommodation?

By the international office of the school I attend in Hannover.

What are the accommodation prices like? What are prices like for other things in general?

  • About 200 euros/single room in dormitory.
  • About 200-350 euro/single room in shared flat.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes and many people (especially at school) speak English, also my classes where in English, not in German (but in the other faculties there were no English courses) but there is a great and cheap offer of foreign languages (75 euros/year for every language they can offer).

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Hannover from your city?

I went by car, buses are cheap.

There were cheap flights to Bremen from my city (and the train from Bremen to Hannover was for free because of the semester ticket).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Hannover?

You can go out in the city center (behind the main station) but also there are many alternative places.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Hannover?

I recommend Bavaria Restaurant (typical German food).
