What is it like to live in Hannover? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Hannover is a small but yet a wonderful city to live in. I was situated in Hameln which is a bit far from Hannover but I also loved it. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee places, shops, markets, etc. The city centre of Hannover is very nice with a lot of nice places to visit.

What is the student lifestyle like in Hannover?

Students spend weekends usually working and studying during the week. There are some parties going on during weekends that can make your student life more interesting.

How much does it cost to live in Hannover?

Hannover is not a very expensive city, if you shop at markets and avoid restaurants or coffee places you could live a decent life.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Hannover? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes finding cheap accommodation in Hannover is rather difficult. I found mine in Hameln which is a great quite place but a bit far from Hannover. Transport could be an issue since you need to leave at least one hour prior to your appointment in Hannover.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I loved the food in Hannover, I was most impressed by Vapiano and an Argentinian restaurant I went to in the city center. I really didn't like the Chinese restaurant because the food was not the way I am used to in Chinese restaurants so I don't recommend it.

What places would you recommend visiting in Hannover?

If you are in Hannover you must visit CeBIT during March it is a great fair with a lot of people from all over the world, so it is a great experience. There are always free one day tickets so make sure to go there.

Is it good to eat out in Hannover? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I would definitely recommend Vapiano. It is located in the city center and it is perfect for young people that want to eat pasta, pizza or salads. The place is not expensive at all so anyone can afford it.

Is the nightlife good in Hannover? Where is good to go?

No, the nightlife is nothing special there are not many good places I liked. Private parties might be a better alternative. Although I went to a good party on CeBIT grounds in a pub with a live bend it was good.

What advice would you give future students heading to Hannover?

Hannover is a good place, but the weather is not very warm or sunny, so if you can live with that you will have a great time.
