Experience in Hannover, Germany by MARVIN KILIAN
What is it like to live in Hannover? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
With half a million citizens it is a big town, but feels smaller. You can reach every important spot with the bycicle or with the "Üstra" (bus and subway). It is a very green city with a forest in the city and many other green spaces.
What is the student lifestyle like in Hannover?
Depends on you.
How much does it cost to live in Hannover?
allround about 300-400 € rent, 150 € for food, 100 € additional living costs
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Hannover? Is there any advice you can give?
It can be difficult, especially at the beginning of the semester. Try to search on different platforms and also in facebook groups.

I don't know about traditional "Hanover food". But they have a lot of restaurants from different regions of the world. My favorite food is the kebab.

The "Maschsee", the "new" town hall, the "Herrenhäuser Gärten", the "Limmerstraße"
During the summer also the "Ricklinger Kiesteiche"

Go to "Street kitchen" at the "Limmerstraße", fast, cheap and delicious.
Is the nightlife good in Hannover? Where is good to go?
Don't go to the clubs near the main station. I prefer "Weidendamm" or "Faust".
An other possibility is to go to the "Limmerstraße", drink a few freshly tapped beers from the Kiosk and see what happens.
What advice would you give future students heading to Hannover?
Enjoy the time and get in contact with other people. The majority is very friendly. :)
