Praça do Giraldo

If you want to get to know Evora, Praça do Giraldo (Giraldo's square in English) is a great place to begin. It is located in the heart of the city, 5 minute (or less) walk from all the most important attractions - as well as restaurants and souvenir stores. 

The square itself is a very nice place. It has very important buildings in its surroundings such as Saint Anton Church, Portugal's central Bank, and archs over the houses. Right in the middle of it you'll also find a beautiful fountain. 

Also, if you follow any of the streets around the square you'll find something nice to see: it can be the city's Cathedral (on cinco de outubro street), Capela dos Ossos and São Francisco's church (on Romão Ramalho street) or Jardim Diana and Roman Temple in Nova street.

You can get lost in Evora if you know how to come back to Praça do Giraldo. And geting lost in this cute city is a great thing to do! Enjoy your stay there!
