Jardim Público

Every city has its public parks and gardens, green spaces to enjoy nature and the outside. Jardim Público de Évora (or Evora's public garden, in English) is a perfect place to do so.

Since Evora is a very sunny village in the Alentejo, south of Portugal, every day will be a great day to visit it and it's outsides. The public garden is perfect to spend the afternoon like locals: having a coffee, snacks, walking around and watching the kids and dogs play. Really peaceful.

Also a very beautiful autumn scenery, with yellowish trees and plants. The garden has also a little fountain where you can see ducks and gooses, and some classic constructions such as Palácio Dom Manuel and some ruins inside it.

Last, but not least, you'll find a snack bar inside the park to have an afternoon coffee and eat some portuguese sweets - I recommend the Queijinho do céu (with almonds and eggs).

Location

The garden is really near the most important monuments of Evora, such as Capela dos Ossos, Igreja de São Francisco and Praça do Giraldo. So, you can go anywhere by foot from there.
