Why did you choose to go to Evora, Portugal?

I am on an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. I chose Evora because the university had the course I wanted to do.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It's for 10 months. It's a full Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Evora?

Student lifestyle is pretty good. There are many great places to hangout at.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Evora to other students?

Yes, I would totally recommend the University of Evora to other students.

What is the food like?

The food is very good. The cuisine is typical Alentejo regional cuisine. But you can cook your own food, which I think is the best.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Evora?

No, the Erasmus Student Network of the University of Evora helped me to find my accommodation in Evora.

How much does it cost to live in Evora?

Around 250-300 euros for a frugal spender, 350-400 euros for a medium spender and around 600-800 euros for a high spender every month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is easy to grasp, but many people speak English, so its not a problem. And yes, the university has Portuguese language courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Evora from your city?

My city is Mumbai, India. So, by plane. Otherwise, Evora is one and a half hour from Lisbon. Train or bus is the most economical way. You take the aerobus from the airport to Sete Rios and then a Rede Expressos bus to Evora or you take a train to Evora from Lisbon-Oriente station.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Evora?

Barue, Capitulo 8, Praxis, 6 Tetos, Shaker Bar, Sociedad Harmonia Eborense, Terraza, etc. These are all pretty good places to go on a night out.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Evora?

It has many good restaurants. Samurai for Japonese food, Arte Cafe, Cafe St Humberto, Ali baba for kebabs and Cafe Alentejo.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Evora has a UNESCO world heritage Roman Temple or The Diana Temple, Cathedral, Chapel of bones, Jardim de Evora, Museums, Praca do Giraldo, etc.
