Why did you choose to go to Evora, Portugal?

Because I wanted to travel around Portugal, and this was the only city there I had the possibility to go up to my University.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I'm staying in Evora for six months. I received the 80% of the total ammount, which is 380 euros x six months.

What is the student lifestyle like in Evora?

About the nightlife, there are only two "discos" there, but there are several pubs you can stay in to spend a nice night. There's a great number of students, but not so many going out in the night.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Evora to other students?

The city is nice if you like small cities, don't expect to find something incredible. The university is ok, but I guess it depends on the course.

What is the food like?

I don't like their typical food so much. They use to have a sort of everything-mixed-up-plate for each meal. And above all fried things and rice everywhere

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Evora?

I spent several days looking for an accomodation. mostly there are really old houses there.

How much does it cost to live in Evora?

The rent is about 200 euros/m. or even less, but there are not so many choiches about the supermarkets, especially the walking distance ones, so the prices may not be so cheap. Beer is 60 cents-1 euro the small one.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is easier for Italians and Spanish, I guess it's not the same for the other countries. The University invites you to attend a language course after a test to choose the correct level.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Evora from your city?

Unfortunately, from my city is not so cheap and not so quick: there's no direct flight, even if it's the best way to travel to Lisbon. After reaching Lisbon you have to take a 10 euros bus to reach the station of Evora, then in about 15 minutes walking you can reach the center.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Evora?

Harmonia is a nice "society"/pub/whatever, right in the center. Then, there's Capitulo 8 (not so recommended) and Praxis club, or even Tetos and several other pubs.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Evora?

I still didn't find a really good one, but I didn't really looked for it.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Old town, and out from the city Cromeleque/Dolmen/Menhir sites.
