What is it like to live in Dresden? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Dresden is a beautiful city full of baroque architecture, relaxing nature and that feeling of being in a big city. I can totally recommend it!

What is the student lifestyle like in Dresden?

You have a lot of opportunities to party in Dresden. I really recommend you visiting the Neustadt, which is a part of Dresden. This is kind of the centre for young people. The streets are filled with discos, bars and cafés.

How much does it cost to live in Dresden?

The rent costs are low compared to other cities in Germany.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dresden? Is there any advice you can give?

If you start early, it is easy to find a good room or flat in Dresden. I can recommend you the page WG-GESUCHT . There are also a lot of Facebook groups which can help you in your search.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Especially in the Neustadt you can find every kind of food, doesn't matter where your preferences are.

What places would you recommend visiting in Dresden?

I recommend you to visit the "Altstadt" with Zwinger, Semperoper, Frauenkirche and Altmarkt. Take a hike in the nearby Erzgebirge. It is so beautiful there! The best places to relax are the Great Garden and the meadows at the river Elbe.

Is the nightlife good in Dresden? Where is good to go?

Yes! As I already told you, you will be jolly in Neustadt, but the centre of Dresden also provides a lot of party locations. I can recommend Kraftwerk, Groovestation, Sektor... But it depends in what kind of music you like!

What advice would you give future students heading to Dresden?

Drink a Radler and eat Eierschecke at the shore of the Elbe and watch the sunset.
