What is it like to live in Cork? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Cork , is a busy City. There are many people and many types of people. One can find amazing places in Cork, especially in the country. The weather varies, it can go from frozen to hot during one day! It is a good tourist spot, there are lots of sites to see.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cork?

Student lifestyle is busy enough in Cork. There are many clubs and pubs but a lot have older age requirements than expected. I find, that if you find one spot or a few small spots that you love , you should stick to them!
There is a good student base in Cork , especially in the College areas.

How much does it cost to live in Cork?

It can be expensive enough to live in Cork. It generally depends on where you are living and the lifestyle you want! One can also live on a tight budget in Cork and will survive!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cork? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not very difficult. There are many helpful online site that help to find accommodation. Daft.ie is a good one. The further from the city you are the cheaper it is to live, but the public transport gets more expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food in Cork is okay, you could eat in a lovely place or an awful place! My favourite dish is Lasagne or Spag Bol.

What places would you recommend visiting in Cork?

I'd recommend visiting Cape Clear island in West Cork. It is an amazing little island with really friendly people. It is one of my all time favourite places!

Is it good to eat out in Cork? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favourite spot to eat in the City would be Skoozis. It has a wide range of food on the menu and isn't very expensive!
I also love The Rochestown Park Hotel, they do amazing steaks and lasagne!

Is the nightlife good in Cork? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is good, popular spots would be An Brog, Havanas, Reardans, The Savoy..

What advice would you give future students heading to Cork?

Try to make as much friends as you can, venture around the County , not just the city! Explore all of it.
