How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I'm in Cork for three months and i've revieved €1000, just the half of what i'm expending.
What is the student lifestyle like in Cork?
It's fine, but there's not a lot of people. It is a small town.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Cork to other students?
Yes, totally of course.
What is the food like?
Normal food. Nothing interesting. But good beer. Really good.
How did you find your accommodation?
I've find my accomodation with Partnership Europe. The accomodation is fine but the job of my practices are really bad. Don't take the help of Partnership Europe. It hasn't good oppotunities and they just find the easiest way.
What are the accommodation prices like? What are prices like for other things in general?
Actually it is not very expensive, but Partnership Europe make us to pay more. So it is better to book by yourself.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes. No complitacion. Even the language as the way of life here is easy to get to grips with.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Cork from your city?
Taking a cheap flight Madrid-Dublin, then a bus between Dublin-Cork (€18)
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cork?
Pubs with live music. There are hundred of them, some better than others, but everyone are awesome. You can also do ''pubcrowl'' that cosists on go to different pubs at the same night, on friday there are free shots!!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Cork?
You're nt gonna expend less than 7 eurosanywhere. So don't just take food from McDonalds or Kebabs... ahother with Soup+Sandwich.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Castles around Cork. Someones you can go by feet, but the most of them you should take a bus.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Cork in the future?
Bring coat, confortable shoes, umbrella and sunglases (you will use both the same day) and money for beer.
