Why did you choose to go to Cork, Ireland?
Mainly for the English and because I had heard good things about the city.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
The scholarship is 5 months and I receive 1, 500 euros.
What is the student life like in Cork?
Very good. There are lots of students and there are parties nearly every day of the week. The bad thing is that they end at 2:30am.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Cork to other students?
Yes, totally.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Cork?
It wasn't that difficult because I found the residence a long time in advance. You have to look for a residence very early because they run out of places very quickly.
How much does it cost to live in Cork?
I can't say exactly, but it is more expensive than in Spain, especially the price of alcohol, which is very different to the price in Spain.
How is the language? Did you take any courses at the university?
At the start it was difficult, but little by little you improve your listening. I didn't take any courses at university.
What is the best way to get to Cork from your city?
Either by flying from Santiago-London and then London-Cork, or fly to Dublin and then get a bus to Cork.
Which places would you recommend to go out in Cork?
Holy Cow, Old Oak, Voodoo.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
In the city there isn't much to see. There a quite a few churches and an art gallery.
What advice would you give to future students going to Cork?
Make the most of your experience.
