Why did you choose to go to Cork, Ireland?

I was offered UCC as the option for my study track. After reading about it online I decided it would be a great place to study.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is Erasmus Mundus Action 2 for 2 years of my Master's.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cork?

There are various things to do: art events, music concerts,excellent sport arena - lots of things to take study breaks.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cork to other students?

It's a lovely city and very comfortable to live in because it's rather small. Most of places are within walking distance.

What is the food like?

I enjoyed Indian restaurants in town. Also, many places for traditional fish and chips.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Cork?

No, I used UCC Accommodation office website.

How much does it cost to live in Cork?

700 a month (food and housing)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I spoke English before coming to Ireland. Their accent is weird at times but generally I had no problem understanding people.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Cork from your city?

Flights - I took SAS both ways

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cork?

Sin E - nice Irish pub with traditional music every night

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Cork?

Quay Co-op vegetarian restaurant

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Blarney castle within 20-minute bus ride. Also, Crawford art gallery - lovely place and free entry!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Cork in the future?

Use the Mardyke arena sports centre - it's excellent. It offers swimming pool, gym and a variety of classes - all for free for UCC full-time students.

    I lived there for a year and did not spend that much per month. 700€ might be the maximum.
