Living in Cluj is amazing. The city is so full of life and there are a lot of things to do for anyone's tastes and preferences. The people here are open-minded, very friendly and the city in general makes me feel like home.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cluj-Napoca?

The student lifestyle is the best! Lots of advantages such as cheap dormitories, transportation discounts (and free bus for 2 lines) and a lot of things to do.

How much does it cost to live in Cluj-Napoca?

I live in a dormitory which is around 40 EUR and the rest (food, transportation and entertainment) take up around 150 EUR, depending on how much you spend. Your life can be cheaper or more expensive, it's only up to you. The rent in Cluj is quite expensive, so it helps you to save some money if you live in a student dormitory.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cluj-Napoca? Is there any advice you can give?

It might be a bit difficult because the rent is expensive but the rooms aren't quite modern sometimes. It depends a lot on the area you're looking for. There is a Facebook group called "Chirie CLUJ NAPOCA" and there are a lot of advertisements of rooms. But if you are a student, I recommend applying for student dormitories. They are a lot cheaper and you will make a lot of new friends there.

The food is great and there's a huge variety to choose from. Student cafeterias, fast-foods, restaurants and so on.

What places would you recommend visiting in Cluj-Napoca?

All the places! There are too many to list here. Just take the city step by step with a map in your hand or a friend by your side and discover it.

Is it good to eat out in Cluj-Napoca? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is. I am a huge fan of Marty Restaurants, Bistro Capricio, New Crocco and Panemar.

Is the nightlife good in Cluj-Napoca? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Cluj-Napoca is lit! Love it. There are so many bars, pubs and clubs to choose from! From techno music to house, rock or even salsa. My favourite clubs are Form Space, Euphoria Music Hall and Nest of Angels (NOA).

What advice would you give future students heading to Cluj-Napoca?

Try to get in touch with locals, make Romanian friends at college and enjoy this beautiful experience.
