What is the student lifestyle like in Cluj-Napoca?

It is cheap to live in Cluj, and you have everything any modern city has. It is quite easy to get around by foot or by bike in the city + you can always use buses because they are really cheap. a monthly bus ticket to 2 selected lines is 30 lei.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cluj-Napoca to other students?

Yes. I enjoyed it very much.

What is the food like?

The food is great and the prices are cheap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Cluj-Napoca?

The Erasmus coordinator in babes bolyai was very helpful. I stayed at the dormitory.

How much does it cost to live in Cluj-Napoca?

I don't know exactly... but it was very cheap compared to my country.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

All the Erasmus students had the option to join a basic Romanian course, and we also received 6 credits for it. The language is not very easy, but very interesting and for students with background in Italian/Spanish/french it is much easier to get the hang of.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cluj-Napoca?

There are many cool bars in the city, so many festivals and activities during the summer, and nice restaurants. there are also dance clubs.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Cluj-Napoca?

Hanul Dacilor, Maimuta Plangatoare, Marty, Samsara Food House, Indigo, Joben, Roata, Livada and many more...

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are many museums in the city, Salina Turda, The hunted forest and many more...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Cluj-Napoca in the future?

To check that the faculty offers courses in English.
