Preparation of spaghetti with ham

So, I will tell you about the preparation of that spaghetti with ham, though, I am sure, that almost everyone knows, how to cook spaghetti, and most of the packages even have that cooking manual, where you can read exactly how to prepare the spaghetti, you know. however, I will still write about all of that and the whole process of the preparation, because some people don’t really know anything about it and want to prepare some spaghetti or whatever.

Well, usually they are those long sticks and people like eating them, however, it’s kind of difficult to eat them that way. You should have that spoon and fork work together to take some spaghetti and then eat it, because otherwise, you will have it crashed or you will have a hard time eating it, however, children like it that way without spoon and everything and they usually get dirty with the sauce or the oil or whatever that spaghetti is made with. To be honest, I hate when children do that, I mean, when they are all dirty and stuff with those things, however, you can’t really make them eat more delicate, I think.

Anyways, having one package of spaghetti can be a pretty much more than enough, so that you might want to divide it into halves, though it all depends on how many people you are serving, of course, but I usually prepare half of it, because there are not many people here and, besides, spaghetti is to be eaten when it’s fresh and newly prepared and not after getting cold and then heating it and things like that, then spaghetti is not that delicious and tasty and no one really likes it that way, I think. So the half of the package usually is 250 grams of spaghetti. And it’s said, that you should have 1 litre of water per 100 grams of spaghetti, however, I don’t do that usually. I use even less water and it’s pretty enough, because, imagine, if you want to prepare the whole package, which is that 500 grams of spaghetti, then you have to use 5 litres of water and the saucepan will be so large, that it might not even use just one gas. And that spaghetti can just be boiled in less water very easily and if the water is absorbed fully or something like that, you can always add some boiling water to the spaghetti and that will be it. However, I haven’t had that case of needing to add some more water to it, so that I have an experience of preparing some spaghetti and it doesn’t need that much of water. And if the water is more than enough, when the spaghetti is done cooking and it’s finished, you still have to spill the extra water out, so that, it is not that necessary to have the exact 1 litre for the 100 grams of spaghetti.

Anyways, when I prepare spaghetti, I usually have 1.5 or 2 litres of water boiled in an electric kettle, because that way I won’t have to pour that cold water into the saucepan and then wait for it to get boiled for ages, and that electric kettle can boil that water in a couple of minutes and then I can pour it into the saucepan and start the gas on and it continues boiling after a minute or so, so that this method is pretty cool and I recommend doing that to everyone, too.

After I have poured the water into the saucepan, I usually add some salt to it , and, while many people don’t recommend using salt in the dishes in the beginning of the cooking, I still do that, because that way the spaghetti pieces get a little more delicious, I think. However, you can just add the spaghetti pieces to the saucepan and let them get soft and get into the saucepan and be boiled and cooked and everything. well, it’s not that I don’t obey the rules and things like that, however, in this case, I really think, that I should add some salt prior to adding the spaghetti to the saucepan, and, then, if the spaghetti is a little too salty (which doesn’t happen usually), I pour some cold water on it and that way the saltiness goes away and everything is just fine. It’s said, that you have to boil the spaghetti for 15 minutes or so and then after that it’s ready, however, I think, it needs more than 15 minutes and I usually taste it before I decide , that it’s already ready. Well, it needs a little bit more, than 15 minutes to get ready and it’s not like it’s not ready in 15 minutes, but I like it a little bit more cooked, I guess, when it doesn’t have that flour taste or whatever. However, you shouldn’t overcook it either, of course, and you might have seen some spaghetti pieces not resembling spaghetti in any ways.

So, after the spaghetti is done cooking and it has this good taste and the salt is fine, too, you should take the spaghetti and have a little cold water poured onto it, like you are washing it. That way, it will get rid of the starch that it has around and it won’t get stuck on each other. After that, you can have the spaghetti into the saucepan and add whatever you want. In this case, we have this ham, which is a great thing in dishes and you can buy whichever ham you like the most and cut it into some small pieces and use them into your dish. However, you might want to add some oil, too, or butter or something like that, or you may even want to add some other things, it’s all up to you, and, as I’ve already mentioned above, spaghetti is great with everything, so that it’s really easy to think of anything, that you can eat with the prepared spaghetti. You know, I usually don’t prepare spaghetti with ham, so that it was kind of new to me, when I saw that spaghetti with ham on the shelves in the Fresco supermarket and that’s how I decided to have it prepared, because it was pretty delicious and it seemed pretty easy to prepare, too. However, people here still prefer having some spaghetti with cheese and they shred cheese, such as sulguni or imeruli cheese and add those pieces to the spaghetti after it’s cooked and they cook it for a minute or two. However, now I have eaten this spaghetti with melted cheeseor whatever, which is sold in the supermarkets and it’s like butter and you can spread it on the bread or something and they have different types of that cheese and it’s really good and delicious and you can have it in your spaghetti dish and it will have an amazing taste, if you want to know the truth.

Well, this was what I wanted to tell you about those Italian days in Fresco and a recipe of that spaghetti with ham. I haven’t prepared lasagna on my own yet and I will try soon and I will write about it as soon as I prepare it, though there are frozen lasagnas and you can have them bought in those large supermarkets and microwave them or whatever, though there are not those lasagnas in every supermarket, so that you will need to look for it for a while, I guess.
