Soup Minestrone

The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this amazing dish, which I just heard about and prepared it. It is a pretty good one and, if you like having many things in your soups, then this dish is just perfect ofr you, because eit has so many ingredients, that you will just be very surprised. However, all those ingredients get well with each other and that’s why the soup is very delicious when prepared.

Well, this soup is called Minestrone soup and they usually don’t prepare it in Georgia, however it’s loved in Italy and some other places, if you want to know the truth. People here in Georgia just prepare the exact same soups, that their grandmothers used to prepare and they don’t really like experimenting new things, if you ask me.

So that, anyways, let me tell you about the preparation of this Minestrone soup.

Ingredients:

  • Onion, 1 medium
  • Zucchini, 1 medium
  • Eggplant, 1 medium
  • Field mushrooms, 3 medium
  • Sweet pepper, 2 medium
  • Green beans, 100 grams
  • Celery, 40 grams
  • Pasta, 100 grams
  • Parmeggiano, 100 grams
  • Ham, 40 grams
  • Cut tomatoes, 4 tablespoons
  • Garlic, 2 cloves
  • Vegetable or chicken stock, 2 litres
  • Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Parsley to taste
  • Pesto sauce

Preparation process

Well, the preparation process is not that difficult, because though there are many ingredients in the recipe, they don’t really need much of the preparation or cooking.

So that, first of all , you should take the onions and peel them and wash them and set them aside.

You should then also wash the celery and have the garlic clove peeled.

After that, you can chop all these ingredinets and I do that with my chopper blender, which is a great thing for chopping such things, if you want to know the truth.

Then, you can take the eggplant and mushrooms and sweet pepper and zucchini and cut them into medium pieces. You can either have them chopped or sliced, however, chopping them into some cubes is better, I guess.

After that, you should take the ham and cut it into small pieces and then you can just put them into an oiled frying pan and cook the ham pieces a little bit.

After that, you can add the garlic and onions to the ham and cook them together for about 2 minutes in the frying pan.

Then you can add the chopped zucchini, eggplant and mushrooms and pepper and keep cooking.

You should have some cut tomatoes, which should be peeled and either you can have fresh tomatoes and peel them and chop them or you can buy those canned cut and peeled tomatoes, which doesn’t cost too much. And you should add the tomatoes to the other ingredients, too, and keep them cooking in the frying pan.

After some time, you can add the hot vegetable or chicken stock, or you can just add some hot water, which I usually do, and, perhaps I can add one cube of that Galina Blanca for the taste.

You should then put the lid on the frying pan and have it on medium heat for about 15 minutes or so.

After those 15 minutes, you can add the green beans and put the lid on again.

Until the fish is ready about  5 minutes earlier you should add the pasta and it should be small pieces and not some spaghetti or larger pieces, you know. you should also add some salt and black pepper, if you want to.

When the dish is ready, you can serve it in small bowls.

You can add some pesto sauce to the dish when served and some shredded parmeggiano on top of it and eat it like that.

Well, when you see all those ingredients, you have a question, how cheap this dish can be, to tell you the truth , it’s not that expensive, because though there are many ingredients in it, they are in small portionsand , hence, the dish doesn’t get too expensive in that matter of things.

To be honest, it’s just great, when all those tastes of those ingredients get together and having them in that frying pan while cooking them is a great choice, because that way they just assemble together with those tastes and the dish becomes one full dish with that assembled taste and I really like it.

If you don’t have the pesto sauce, it’s not that difficult to prepare and I have a recipe written about the preparation of the pesto sauce in my blogs and, well, you can always google it and prepare it, however, if you don’t use the pesto sauce in your Minestrone soup, that won’t be a catastrophe and you can just shred the parmesan and add it to the dish while serving, it will just be alright, if you ask me.

So that, I hope, that you will find this dish very interesting and that you will prepare it some day and you will really like it because of its distinguished taste.  It’s not a bad idea to have them served to your guests on some occasions and they will like it, because it’s a very fancy dish and it’s pretty delicious. though, there are many ingredients and some of them can be excess for someone or some may not like some of the ingredients, but the dish is prepared that way and it’s not that good to skip any part of it,  I guess.
