Pumpkin aladiki

The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about these aladiki, which are the pancakes, however, they call them aladiki here or blini, I guess, but, whatever, they are pretty delicious and very easy to be prepared and, besides, they are pretty good things to have them on breakfast.

Well, you know, that people are really fond of those pancakes, which has become more and more popular around the world and many people  just love having them at breakfasts with some sauces or honey or fruits and they just can’t help but preparing these pancakes. The Aladikis are something like that, however, the name is just different, if you ask me, so that you can prepare these Aladikis and have them at breakfast, too, because they are pretty good and nourishing.

So that, these are the Aladiki with pumpkin and as the pumpkin is pretty popular thing around the world, it is used in many dishes, so that we will have the pumpkin Aladiki prepared now, too.

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin, 400 grams
  • All purpose flour, 150 grams
  • Salt, ½ teaspoon
  • Oil, 80 ml
  • White granulated sugar, 50 grams
  • Baking powder, 5 grams
  • Egg, 1 medium

Preparation process

Well, the preparation process starts with the pumpkin. Of course, you should wash the pumpkin pretty thoroughly and then you should peel it, so that you need it to be without skin. You should then cut it into medium cubes and have them cooked.

So, usually people have some water poured into a saucepan and they put the pumpkin pieces into it and let the water get boiled and then they have it boiling like that for some time, until the pumpkin pieces are softer and cooked.

When the pumpkin pieces are cooked, you can take them out and set them aside, so that they will get cold.

When the pumpkin pieces are cold, you can have them squashed and make a puree out of them. You know, I usually do that with my chopper-blender and it’s really easy and simple to do that this way.

After that, you can add the flour to the pumpkin puree and mix them well together. If you are mixing them into the mixer bowl, then you should add the flour little by little, so that it won’t get all over the places.

Well, then you should add the egg and salt and sugar and baking powder and mix them all well together.

After that, you should take a frying pan and put it on the gas and preheat it.

You should then add some oil to the frying pan and take a spoonful of that dough and pour it onto the frying pan.

You should have the Aladiki fried on both sides and you should do that until the dough is finished.

Well, it’s better if you have a small frying pan for those Aladiki, because they have this certain shape like those pancakes and the small frying pan is just pretty good for that.

So that, the pumpkin Aladikis are ready and you can eat them just the way they are or you can just have some sauce poured onto them, like the caramel sauce or chocolate sauce or even some sour cream and, well, to be honest, this sour cream goes very well with the Aladiki and I didn’t know that until just recently, so that you should keep that in mind. And, well, it’s very good for them, who doesn’t want to eat very sweet Aladiki and in that case, the sour cream makes the sweetness of the Aladikis kind of neutral and it’s pretty good to eat them that way.

Anyways, prepare those pumpkin Aladiki and eat them at breakfast, I’m sure, that you will love them and want to have them every morning, because they are very light to eat, because they have less flour and more pumpkin puree in them and, well, they are pretty awesome in any ways.

Enjoy your cooking!
