Potato puree with buckwheat

The introduction

Who doesn’t love potato puree?! Well, I know, that many people love it and it’s pretty easy to prepare and it’s really easy to eat it, and, besides, it kills your hunger and you can eat it with so many things, that it’s just impossible to list them all.

To be honest, potatoes are very popular in Georgia and in every country, I guess, and they cost pretty cheap and they are sold in every place.

There are even potato purees sold prepared in the supermarkets and places of prepared dishes in Georgia and the potato puree is not expensive, so that many people just buy it and eat it during their lunch break.

In this article, I want to tell you about this potato puree recipe, to which I added some other things, too, such as buckwheat and cheese and it came out pretty delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes, 2 large
  • Buckwheat, 100 grams, raw
  • Svanetian salt
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Cheese, 30 grams

Preparation process

The preparation process takes just a couple of minutes, as you just need to boil some things and then have them blended together and that is all!

  1. I took 2 large potatoes and peeled them and washed them and sliced them in thin slices, so that they would get cooked pretty fast.
  2. I poured some water in a saucepan and put the potato slices and the water should be just to cover the potato slices.
  3. I waited for the water to be boiled on gas and then I turned the gas on a low heat, so that it would still be boiling and the potatoes would get cooked.
  4. After half an hour, the potatoes were cooked and I could turn the gas off.
  5. I took that 100 grams of buckwheat and washed them and put them into a small saucepan and poured double water into the saucepan as the buckwheat was and then put it on a gas, so that it would get boiled.
  6. After the water got boiled I turned the gas down and let the buckwheat get cooked. I also added some svanetian salt to the buckwheat.
  7. I had the cheese shredded, so that when I had all the other stuff ready, I would add the cheese to them.
  8. When the potatoes and buckwheat were cooked and kind of cooled down, I put them into my chopper-blender and mixed them together, so that it would be like a thick porridge.
  9. After that, I added some salt and ground black pepper and svanetian salt and the shredded cheese, too, and had them blended together.
  10. The dish was done!

Well, the potato puree was done and it tasted really good!

One thing, that you need to know, is that you shouldn’t pour the potato water out. In fact, you need that water in your potato puree, because it will make it lighter and not very dry, so that, keep that in mind!

You can eat the dish alone or you can just use it as a sauce and eat it with some other things, such as kebabs or omelette or sausages or whatever you want. It’s really good with many things, and it will kill your hunger pretty soon after eating it!

So that, prepare this meal and enjoy your cooking! And besides, it’s a pretty cheap meal and it will be more than enough for you to eat for a day or two.
