Easy-to-make Mojito

When you're throwing a party, or organising one, the hardest part is always choosing what to serve as cocktail. I have previously written about Sangría, which is tasty but not exactly appropriate as a cocktail. According to my personal experience, mojito is always a fantastic idea! Easy to prepare, alcoholic enough, tasty and customisable as you prefer. Your guests are going to love it.

The first time I prepared mojito was for no special occasion though. Me and my friends were trying to figure something out for our Saturday night plans. We had ran out of ideas, but he suddenly came up with a beautiful one. He though we could play some alcoholic card games or board games while drinking something different. He said "what if we make mojito? We've never prepared it! ". I immediately agreed, it really seemed like a good idea.

So we looked up what we needed and then we went to the supermarket. Here's what we used to prepare four pitchers of mojito.

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles white rum
  • 2 bottles lemon soda
  • 8 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 limes
  • Ice - a lot
  • Mint leaves - we bought one mint plant and used almost every leaf

Directions

Firstly, fill the pitchers to the half with the white rum. Cut the limes in four halves and take a slice out from every piece of lime.

Take each half and squeeze it into each pitcher. Take the mint leaves - as many as you want - and put them inside. Then add the brown sugar - 2 tablespoons in each pitcher - and mix everything. Add the lemon soda until the pitcher is almost full and then fill it completely with ice. At this point, cut the slices of lime you have left and put them on top of each pitcher.

Et-voilà! You've got mojito!
