Cutlets with potato puree

The introduction

Potato puree is always a great idea to have and many people like it, as you may already know. this is a good thing to have as a sauce or as a dish, it all depends on the consistency of the potato puree, if you ask me. And one of the things about this potato puree is, that people eat it with beef cutlets. It has been a very popular dish in the whole Georgia and some other places. There is no dining place without having a cutlet with puree as a sauce or side dish, and many people have them ordered for their children.

Now I will tell you about the beef cutlet recipe with potato puree, which I pretty much love, if you want to know the truth.

Preparation process

  1. The preparation process begins with the ground beef, and if it’s not ground, you should grind it in your grinding machine, and if it’s possible, it’s better if you buy the beef and then grind it, so that it’s newly grinded and it’s more delicious that way.
  2. The next thing is to peel the potatoes and wash them and boil them. I usually peel them and slice them into thin slices and then I have them put into the saucepan and I add some water, so that the potatoes are covered with the water. You know, it’s easier to just boil the water into an electric kettle and then pour it on the potatoes, so that it will boil quicklier then, rather than having cold water into your saucepan. And I slice the potatoes thinly, so that they will boil faster and get cooked faster.
  3. Meanwhile, you can peel the onions and wash the herbs, such as the celery, parsley and coriander and green pepper. Then I just put them into the chopper-blender and have them chopped in there. It’s a very easy way to have them chopped without getting your hands cut or something like that.
  4. The next thing you do is to mix the chopped onions and herbs and pepper with the beef. I do that in my chopper-blender, too.
  5. Then you should add the salt and spices to the beef and have them mixed together very well, so that there can’t be any piece of that ground beef with too much salt or without it at all. And to do that , you can use the chopper-blender, too.
  6. In the meantime, the potatoes are already cooked and ready and you can spill some of the water out and you can have the rest of it for the puree. As you know, having some of that water with those potato pieces makes the puree lighter and fluffier and it’s not that thick with the water in it. However, you can have the potatoes without its water and it will be totally fine, as it will have this more potato taste, of course.
  7. Then you can have the potatoes put into the chopper-blender and have them blended in there turning them into a potato puree.
  8. After that, you can add half of the potato puree to the beef and have them mixed together well.
  9. You can have the remaining half of the potato puree as a side dish or a sauce to the cutlets. I added some celery to it and some salt, too, so that it would be a potato puree with its special taste.
  10. So, now you just have to take some beef and make some medium balls and then have them shaped into diamonds or something like that and put them into some flour and then put them into a frying pan filled with oil.
  11. You should have the cutlets fried on the both sides, until they get brown in color and emit some great smell of roasted beef and herbs! It takes about 15 minutes , I guess, to have those cutlets done.

When everything is ready you can have them tasted, and, if you did everything right, the cutlets and the potato puree should be just amazing with each other and you should be proud of your cooking! Of course, it kind of takes some time, but it’s not very time-consuming, and, besides, this time spent on preparing these things, trust me,  is worth spending and you won’t regret it, because it will be so delicious!

A tip for having cutlets

You can have those cutlets ready and then frozen into the freezer and you can get them out of the freezer and put them into the frying pan and have them fried and they will taste just the same as they would, if you had not frozen them. Many people do that nowadays, because they would rather prepare the cutlets themselves beforehand and freeze them, rather then buy some frozen cutlets in the supermarkets. That way, it’s healthier, and, besides, they know what those cutlets are made ofand that they don’t contain anything bad in them. And they are seasoned just the way they would like those cutlets to be seasoned, I mean, there are some cutlets sold, that have garlic in them and some people can’t eat garlic because of their stomach problems or something like that and if you have some problems  like that, you won’t just have the garlic into your cutlets and that’s all!
