Cooking oat bran
The introduction
Hello readers, I hope, that you are all doing just fine.
I want to tell you about the famous Dukan diet and how it is done in a kind of way. Well, I don’t want to tell you all about it in this article, because it’s just a recipe of that oat bran, which is very necessary in the Dukan diet and which is not something that you should leave out while doing this diet. Dukan says, that you should take 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran every day when doing the Dukan diet, so that you will be able to have a better way to digest all the proteins, that you will take during the diet during the day.
The ingredients:
- 6 tablesspoons of oat bran
- 6 tablespoons of cottage cheese with some matsoni or plain yoghurt
- 5 teaspoons of cocoa powder
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla
- 2 medium eggs
Preparation process
The preparation process was pretty easy. All I had to do was to mix all those ingredients together. I put the cottage cheese mixed with some matsoni, which is a plain yoghurt , if you want to know the truth, and I cracked the eggs and added them to the bowl with the dairy products and then I added the oat bran. I mixed them with the blender and then I decided to have some different muffins done, so that I would taste them and decide which one was better to have another time.
Well, I took my silicon muffin shapes out and put one tablespoon of the mixture into each of them. I added some cinnamon to some of the mixtures.
Then I added that cocoa powder to the mixture that was left and I mixed them well together. It got a little thicker and, I guess, that’s how it should have been all along. I put one and a half tablespoon of the mixture into other silicon shapes and I also added some shredded coconut flakesto some of them.
All in all, I had 12 muffin silicon shapes with the dough and all I had to do was to bake them. I have this convention oven, which is a very good thing for cooking and stuff and I had a high rack put into it and set it for 20 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius and waited for the muffing to be baked.
Well, the muffins had a great smell and the taste was not bad at all considering that it was sugar free and everything. you know, I could even have added a pinch of salt and then it would be like a bread and you could eat those muffins like you were eating bread and, I guess, I will do that another time.
Tips for eating oat bran
- So, if you start eating just that oat bran without anything, I mean, if you just take that oat bran and pour some boiling water and wait a couple of minutes and then eat it, you won’t like it in any way, because it won’t have any taste at all and it will be like sand or something.
- You can at least add some salt, I guess, for it to have some kind of taste. However, it’s still not that good and after some time of eating it like that without anything else, I decided to eat it with some other things.
- You can eat oat bran with things such as beef or some sauce, but that sauce should have been without sugar , of course. So , I had this tomato-ketchup sauce that my aunt had made and I used it to eat the oat bran and it was pretty delicious, so that I used to eat that oat bran like that, until people told me, that they were baking oat bran and eating it like that.
- So you can have a try and cook some of the oat bran. For that I searched for some recipes on internet and found a very simple one, however, there was another with some cocoa powder, which I adore, I must say, and I decided to have that recipe used to prepare some oat bran muffins.
