Bojan - The tale of Mr. Thirsty

Once upon a time, there was a young Macedonian boy, of a regular appearance, somewhat funny haircut, but all in all perfectly normal. He was shy, well behaved and did not stand out from the rest of the inhabitants of his city. People rarely noticed him and there was nothing about him that would foretell his glorious future. Oh yes, his future will be glorious.

As he was growing up, his talents started to emerge. Once he found himself in a race with the other peasant boys from the street (the race was held beneath the castle walls because there is a castle in this tale, as well as the knights and horses and swords and such) and although he did not even think of winning, he finished the race first. But not only he finished it first, but he also left all the other peasant boys far far behind. The news spread like an arrow and soon the whole city knew about the event. Naturally, the peasant boys from other streets, as well as from other blocks of the city, wanted to compete with Bojan. Oh yes, the boy's name was Bojan. So, without even knowing it, our boy Bojan started to climb the ladders of his success.

To tell the truth, this incident was not the only one in his growing up; there were many and many like this one, each and every just indicating the possibility that this boy was not so regular as first thought. With every year of his life, he discovered something special about himself: that Justin Bieber hairstyle is not eternal (not eternal, not sexy and terribly disturbing because of the fringe going into the eyes), that grey was his color, that he could run as fast as the wind (literally), that everything he did not do or like was for the fools anyway and that he could store a great capacity of liquid into his belly. Those may sound a bit odd at first glance, but they are some of his crucial characteristics, especially the last one, as we shall see.

Why the last one, you may ask? Well, you see, at the time being, there was a princess in the kingdom, a beautiful one with long golden hair and luxuriant bosom, who was known as the fairest in the next three kingdoms. But, she had a weird side: she did not listen to her father, the king, at all and did not subject to his will. The king wanted her to mary numerous princes but she refused all of them. Then, since she did not want to marry any loser or a fine prince who would spend more time in front of the mirror than she did, she announced (against her father's will, of course) that she will marry the guy who will prove to be able to drink the most in the kingdom. Of course, many have tried: the fine princes who would drop dead after a two glasses of fine wine; the knights who wouldn't be able to mount their horse after a liter of beer; common people who did bear alcohol better than the upper class but still not well enough. Fed up by all the tries and failures, the princess declared there would be a contest: a beer marathon.
