Here's I would love to give you guys some more advice. If you are not going as tourists, but maybe because you have found a job there, or you are an Erasmus, it might occur that you don't visit many things you should otherwise visit. Therefore, here a list that in my opinion has all the most important things you can't miss.

What to see

Of course, there are more sightseeing to see, but these are the ones that I truly think to be a must to see and do in Barcelona if you do more it is even better of course!

Let's start:

  1. Sagrada Familia
  2. Casa Batlló
  3. Park Güell
  4. Aquarium
  5. Barceloneta
  6. MNAC (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya)
  7. Plaza de Toros
  8. Las Ramblas

I know my list it's not as long as it should have been, but these are the places I can still clearly recall if I think about Barcelona. I have been to a lot more places that these, but those are the ones that I can remember perfectly of Barcelona.

La Sagrada Familia

La Sagrada Familia needs a ticket, same for Casa Batlló and Park Güell, even if it could seem lame, with long queues and long time waiting, it is absolutely worth it and there are no more important monuments to be seen.

The Aquarium

The Aquarium is ok, I mean if you do not want to go it's fine, maybe you could opt for the Camp Nou, which I did not list as I am not a football fan and there is need of a ticket which is not for me worth the buy, however, you could definitely choose to do one or the other or do both!

The Beach

La Barceloneta, as it is a Barcelona area, it is easy to visit because it has either shopping or the beach or both! There are restaurants and if it is a sunny day, it is just perfect. I mean you could spend an entire day or days there! Also, it seems to be the best place to opt at night if you are looking for party!

The museums

Finally 'el MNAC' and 'la Plaza de Toros' one in front of the other, they are absolutely the most beautiful buildings in Barcelona. To reach the MNAC there is a bus tour, one of those hip on/off that bring you to the highest point of Barcelona and stop after that in MNAC, I loved that bus tour. But if you are not taking the bus tour then the museum it is a couple of stairs away from the Toros square. It is amazing on the outside as much as it is on the inside, with a lot of interesting art and there is need of a ticket, which I still recommend buying. You can chill outside the museum on a sunny day with a green area and lots of stairs for tourists to chill why looking at the amazing panorama. In front here it comes to a sort of Colosseum, like the one you can find in Rome, indeed, it is like an Arena used in the past to have shows to entertain the public. La Plaza de Toros, which is nowadays a shopping center! Yes, it is! I know unbelievable! So you can take pictures and go home. Joking, visit inside as well and then go home.

The city center

And we finish with Las Ramblas, there is nothing to see really, but it is apparently it is one of the most representative Barcelona's symbols. However for those of you that doesn't know a lot about Spain, you can find large and long avenues with a lot of shops on the side in almost every Spanish city, therefore, it is to Barcelona how it is to all of the Spain really!

Anyway, of course, you have to go, take a stroll there, crowded like hell, lots of shopping for you to do there, you can eat as well and see old buildings, but attention to the thieves. I know that they all say so, I have been there and nothing happened to me, but I know people that had had a different experience than mine, therefore, I suggest to keep an eye on your personal belongings at all times!

Other than that, all that is left for me to say is to have fun and visit as much as you can, and also stay tuned, because I will post soon a Barcelona part III post with some more info about accommodations, prices and more!

Enjoy your trip to Barcelona!
