It has been 2 years now since I did pay a visit to Barcelona. But, I still remember Barcelona with a huge smile and lots of love. Maybe it was the sun, maybe it was the hotel I was staying that was such an amazing experience that I cannot forget, maybe it was La Sagrada Familia or maybe, it was Barcelona that is just that great.

Well, either way, I am still smiling.

To anyone thinking about wanting to going to Barcelona, I would strongly suggest doing so, indeed.

Apart from being a very popular touristic place, there is a lot more that Barcelona can offer. Depending on the period you decide to go you could choose between exploring more Barceloneta, which is the seaside part of Barcelona or maybe you could enjoy more the inner land if you go, in a period where the sun is not an everyday joy, which would be quite strange, as in Spain the sun is usually an everyday companion.

Said that, Spain usually has a very nice weather throughout all the year, so don't fear no sun at all.

Barcelona by walk

Now for what I recall, Barcelonais really easy to visit by walk. For those of you that are into sport, you can try to go all the way down to Barceloneta from La Sagrada Familia, I know it is a really long, long, long walk, but it is worth it. An option would be to take one of those Hop on hop off buses. Trust me, they are better than you might think. As you pay a packet for about 2 days, you can take with no limit one line and the other and visit whatever you like. There are about 2 lines per each company, each company drives from and to a different route and therefore, you can see almost any sightseeing of Barcelona. Thus, reasons, why I strongly suggest to do pay the bus trip and enjoy the city on top of a double-deck red bus!

What to eat?

You definitely need to stop and eat tapas and always ask the waiter for what is typical to Barcelona, as each place in Spain has its won peculiar tapas and also, drink sangría, which is absolutely good and will be very useful in one of those really Spanish hot days!

Evening time, I would look for a 'Montaditos', which is a company that sells little 'bocadillos', at a really cheap price, like you can't believe it even if you see it! And I would opt for a 'cerveza' or a 'vino tinto' to refresh your nights out. And of course, go party somewhere!

Party

You can start by doing a 'botellón' in some of the central streets of Barcelona, then the party will be somewhere near almost everywhere! In summer, it would be better to go in some place near the beach, but no worry, Barcelona, is all a party!
