What is it like to live in Ankara? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
City is kind of formal because here’s a capital city. But there are lots of Universities therefore you can find attractions for young people.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ankara?
Generally Universities have big campus areas and they all have sport centers, restaurants and parks inside of their area. You can also visit central areas easily by public transport.
How much does it cost to live in Ankara?
If you share flat with someone you can find place for 100-150 euros per person. For other stuff 150 euros can be enough too. Public transportation for one way ticket is around 50 cents.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ankara? Is there any advice you can give?
It is easy to find a room but you can also use dormitories to stay too. Some Universities have their own dorms but for the others you should check private dorms.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
You can find something from all over the world. But the most popular thing is Kebab.
What places would you recommend visiting in Ankara?
Anıtkabir, Ankara castle and museum areas around it, Beypazarı, Atakule, Botanik park, Eymir Lake, Mogan Lake.
Is it good to eat out in Ankara? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes it is good. My favorite spot is “Aspava”
Is the nightlife good in Ankara? Where is good to go?
It is good you can visit places around Gaziosmanpasa, Tunalı or Bestekar.
What advice would you give future students heading to Ankara?
Bring warm clothes for winter.
