It's not that difficult, there are a lot of flats available. Many people don't speak English so bringing a local with you would be great. And many schools offer a spot in the school dorms.

I love Turkish food. Anything that belongs to the Turkish cuisine, you can find in Ankara. I'd recommend everyone to try the dessert "katmer" with some ice cream in it.

Its not very lively, but there are some spots depending on what you are looking for. Pixel and Kite usually have some events, Brasserie Bomonti is more of a casual place to out I'd say. But I wouldn't say any of these are very good.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ankara?

Travel a lot, especially within Turkey, even if you find Ankara boring you will see that there are a lot of places to see in Turkey that you can arrange quick visits to. Also, meet locals and eat local food.
