First of all, Ankara is a city that you may need time to adapt. It's not like the most European cities but hospitality of the people is top level.
After spending some time in Ankara you will definitely create a bond with the city.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ankara?
Since the city contains a lot of universities, student population is high.
How much does it cost to live in Ankara?
It depends on the way you would like to live but in my opinion for a student 900 tl will provide a good life.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
There is a variety of delicious food in Turkish cuisine that I don't think you have ever tried but besides them kebab, iskender, manti are the most popular ones.
What places would you recommend visiting in Ankara?
Is it good to eat out in Ankara? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
- Aspava has very good wraps
- Butcha is the best if you are searching for steaks.
- Ozsut has delicious desserts.
Is the nightlife good in Ankara? Where is good to go?
Mama Cass for house music, if you want to dance until the morning you can go to Puhu, Bestekar street.
What advice would you give future students heading to Ankara?
Be patient. You will like this city if you don't prejudge it and be optimistic.
