Why did you choose to go to Ankara, Turkey?
I think as a student Ankara is a secure city and Ankara owns some of the best universities in Turkey.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It's till I graduate.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ankara?
I feel secured. And Ankara has access to better transport and infrastructure. However, the living cost is kind of e pensive and very less entertainment.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Ankara to other students?
Yes, I would highly recommend.
What is the food like?
You can find many food types. Fast food, Turkish food and Chinese as well.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ankara?
No, not at all.
How much does it cost to live in Ankara?
As a student 500 TL per month at average would be enough for daily expenses.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The university provides language courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ankara from your city?
Getting a student card. When you have a student card you can get discount for buses and metro.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ankara?
Ankara has a lot of shopping malls. So they are ideal for night times.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ankara?
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ankara in the future?
Get ready to live an expensive life and do not expect too much for entertainment.
However, Ankara does own very quality universities and security is high as well. Apart from the financial side, I think Ankara is one of the ideal cities for a student life.
