What is it like to live in Yerevan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Yerevan is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Its history dates back to 782 BC, actually the city is 29 years older than Rome, is the same age as Babylon and the Assyrian city of Nineveh. The city is full of buildings which are made of red or rose stone called tufa, and that's why city is called "rose city".

What is the student lifestyle like in Yerevan?

Student lifestyle is always very busy. There are always a lot of new things to discover. But in weekends you can fully relax in city or out of it.

How much does it cost to live in Yerevan?

For european students it is very cheap city. Eating out is also very simple and not expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Yerevan? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is not. There are some sites where you can find appartments for example list.am ecc.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is full of meat, because we armenians are big meat lovers. Every dish hear is very delicious, we are not using very much spices. The traditional dishes are dolma, khash (which is very famous in winters), khorovats ( armenian barbeque) and a lot of dishes with meat.

What places would you recommend visiting in Yerevan?

There are a lot of museums, galleries and historical monuments. Yerevan is called open air museum. My favorite place in Yerevan is Kaskad and museum of Parajanov.

Is it good to eat out in Yerevan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is very good. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in every step. I will recommend to try them all, they are all very good. The wine restaurants on Saryan street on weekends are the best choice.

Is the nightlife good in Yerevan? Where is good to go?

Yes, nightlife is very good and also very safe for girls. On Abovyan street you can go Paparazzi club, Basement and some other places on Parpetsi street.

What advice would you give future students heading to Yerevan?

You will never regret and always want to come back. We are happy to see you here .
