Why did you choose to go to Yerevan, Armenia?

It was something different from usual Erasmus destinations and touristy places

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 months long
645 euros per month

Would you recommend the city and the University of Yerevan to other students?

Yes, I highly recommend it! Nice people and cool events.

What is the food like?

I am vegetarian but always could find delicious veggy alternatives.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Yerevan?

No

How much does it cost to live in Yerevan?

I spend 250 dollars per month, in city centre.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I think Armenian is quite difficult language. I generally speak Russian with people. My lectures are in English.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Yerevan from your city?

Plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Yerevan?

Pushkin Street, where best, well-known pubs are!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Yerevan?

Lavash, Yerevan Tavern, Windmill, 12 Tables, Dargett, Epicure, Zatar,...

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Museums: Matenadaran, Parajanov, MOMA, National Gallery, Cafesijan Art Centre
Monuments: Genocide Memorial, Erebuni Fortress

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Yerevan in the future?

Be ready to face new challenges. You need to adapt to a very different view of life and culture, but i think it is worth it.
