What is it like to live in Yerevan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Yerevan poses great challenge for foreigners and that very fact attracts tourists, especially the European ones. There are not a lot of places one can go for sightseeing in Yerevan; a good companion is what you need to enjoy at best the mysterious beauty of this city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Yerevan?

If the student doesn't like studying, he/she spends all the day having fun with friends at cafe, pubs, cinema, parks, night clupbs, etc. If one is a good student, he/she mostly has no time for entertainment. In this case, the best thing is to enjoy the presence of cool friends - the place does not matter ;)

How much does it cost to live in Yerevan?

One person will need about 500$ per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Yerevan? Is there any advice you can give?

Foreign students mostly get accommodation with the help of the University they're going to study at and in fact they like it. I don't think other visitors have many problems connected with their accommodation.
It's not very easy to find something good but it is not very difficult either.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Globalization...Globalization....everywhere...
You can find here any kind of food you want. One of the privileges of the food in Armenia is that it is much more natural than in many European countries.

What places would you recommend visiting in Yerevan?

Firends, let's go to Armenian National Gallery. There are a lot of nice things worth seeing, some of which you won't see anywhere else. After leaving the gallery you'll have a soul full of joy, mind full of deep thoughts and body full of positive energy. And with such an inner state there is nothing better than to stay for a while near the fountains situated in the front of the gallery.

Is it good to eat out in Yerevan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Nothing can be compared with a home-made meal especially when it's prepared by a mother or a beloved one.
Of course, we cannot do without eating out, so among the preferable variants are: university buffet (the cheapest option), cafe, restourant (the most expensive option). The more you pay the better dish you get -this does not work here. It's you who should be attentive to get something good - money does not matter so much.
As for me, my favourite spot is my home but I'm not going to give you my address, am I? :)

Is the nightlife good in Yerevan? Where is good to go?

As a good Armenian girl I don't go outside at night, so sorry, the only thing I can advise to do at night is having a walk with your significant other or some nice friends.

What advice would you give future students heading to Yerevan?

Don't expect too much... Expecting too much, in the end we get dissapointed.
Just be sociable - the more friends you'll get, the better you'll spend your time abroad.
