Why did you choose to go to Warsaw, Poland?
I choose Warsaw because I wanted to experience the culture of Eastern Europe and because I knew it was cheap to live there
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I stayed there for 5 months, I received 500 euros
What is the student lifestyle like in Warsaw?
Awesome, you always have something to do, lot of bars, clubs and others entertainments
Would you recommend the city and the University of Warsaw to other students?
Of course
What is the food like?
Haha, I tried pierogi (it's a dumpling) and I didn't like it. But you should try it haha
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Warsaw?
Nop, I had a pretty nice flat near the center with 2 rooms, we were paying 300 euros each bills included
How much does it cost to live in Warsaw?
Depends, if you stay in Warsaw without travelling, I would say 800-900euros per month (including accommodation, transports, food and parties). But, if you travel, you can add 200-300e more.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I had polish classes and it's quite difficult to get used to, but words are funny and you will learn the basics very quickly.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Warsaw from your city?
I'm from Paris, it was by plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Warsaw?
Bars :
Pawilony : you will find a lot of bars there but my favourite is Pijalnia (beers and shots for 1e, nice deal!)
Bulldog bar is great as well
Level up (free video games, good drinks, pizza and hookahs)
Clubs :
Kapitol
Opera klub
Niebo (electro music)
Bal club
During summer :
River side bars
Go to the beach near PGE Naradowy, you can make BBQ and drink there
Noncy Market, it's a food market + beverages + tattoos + barber haha
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Warsaw?
I would say Zapiecek for polish dishes
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Palace of Culture
Copernic Science center
Library of University of Warsaw (go on the rooftop)
Raising museum Warsaw
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Warsaw in the future?
Uber cost in average 3e, don't take taxis
KFC delivers at your place
2 Big Macs for 12zl (3e) at McDonalds
