Why did you choose to go to Warsaw, Poland?
I had choices to go only to Poland or Czech Republic, so I chose Poland.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
one semester - 340€ per month
What is the student lifestyle like in Warsaw?
very active, a lot of parties, culture, nice pubs/clubs/cafés/parks/places
Would you recommend the city and the University of Warsaw to other students?
for sure! maybe it's not the most beautiful city in Poland, but it's very dynamic and full of students
What is the food like?
since I am from Slovakia, it was not very different from our cusine - I liked it
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Warsaw?
no, i got a dormitory
How much does it cost to live in Warsaw?
120€ for dorm... food is not expensive, but partying every week is a bit expensive :D
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
it was easy to learn it, I attended a course in the University of Warsaw
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Warsaw from your city?
Polskibus or by train, but you have to buy a ticket in Warsaw to Budapest and get off in Bratislava (special offer for 29€)
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Warsaw?
Park, Remont, Plan B, in summer some outdoor pubs in parks or riverside... and Pijalnia wodki i piwa of course
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Warsaw?
Mleczny bar, Sphinx (they have student discount!), Hulakula in UW Library
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
concerts in some cafés (Resort), museums...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Warsaw in the future?
just enjoy it as much as possible!
