My celebration of Christmas was in Warsaw with my sister. She asked her bosses to have a vacation during these winter holidays. Luckily, she has succeeded. Therefore, my sister had chance to come over from Ukraine to Poland to celebrate Christmas with her brother. Shortly after the permission for vacation she packed her bags and hastily went to Warsaw, the city where I live.

Soon, she arrived to my work place and we went traveling around Warsaw. As I have been living in Warsaw for more than two years I took my sister to the most wonderful and spectacular places.

There are 24th and 25th of December, the most important days of winter holidays. On the first day we had visited the greatest shopping mall and entertaining center which is called Zlote Tarasy. It has very unique design. The front view looks like holms were made of glasses and the back view looks like some arcuate building. You might think that these are different buildings but it is just a one single building. Furthermore, there is a great Hard Rock Cafe which I like more than Zlote Tarasy. As a fan of rock I got in there, too.

Well, after minor shopping we headed to the old town of Warsaw. I assured my sister on viewing the old town because this is the heart of the city. In addition, it the most beautiful place to spend a Christmas Eve. And it was confirmed; she liked the old town very much. Moreover, she was astonished that the old town does look that beautiful. As you know that, the old town was completely demolished after World War II. Later, the old town was rebuilt. In fact, the rebuilding process was completed in a perfect way. Consequently, the perfect old town and delightful weather made my sister happy but the travelling was not over.

After long strolling in old town of Warsaw, we decided to have a national and delicious snack. It was a sort of a Christmas bazaar. The event consisted of chain stalls and clerks were selling different varieties of souveniers and national cuisine. I noticed that majority of tourists were interested more in national food than souvenir. Most all of the people were standing and waiting for a portion of national Polish food. The prices were really cheap we paid for two national dishes about 4 euros. Despite the fact it was cold we had waited for our portions of Bigos and Kotlet Schabowy. The fact is that the preparation of the national Polish food is quite easy and result of it is just stunning. For example, Bigos is made of cabbage stew, sausages, mushrooms and different types of meat. And Kotlet Schabowy is simply a great piece of pork fried on frying-pan. Sometimes it is taken as Schnitzel but it is not. It is delicious and it is nutritious. When you are hungry it is even better. Later, we drank some mulled wine which returned temperature of the bodies back. There is a photo with a real Santa Claus.

One the next day, I recommeded my sister to visit Wilanow Palace. The place is very historic and famous as I had been describing before in my previous publication. Thus, we went there without hesitation. Eventhough I had been there couple times, I was impressed by Baroque architecture and magnificent views again. So was my sister. This palace resembles many historic buildings of Italy and France. We got lucky on the 25th of December because the weather was splendid on the next day. It was not snowing or raining. It was calm and sunny. There were many tourists strolling around the Palace and had been taking hundreds of photos. It is really beautiful there because at that place had been living the most highly influential Polish people. It had tremendous reconstruction during Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth.

All in all, I was very pleased to spend Christmas with my sister. It was a great experience for me because my sister and I never met outside of country. And now I know many interesting and splendid places in Warsaw. Additionally, I learnt history of Warsaw very well. And can tell many historical facts for those who never been in Warsaw before. My sister enjoyed that I had been telling her so many historic facts. One the next day my sister went traveling with her friends to the other European country. And I thanked her for a great family Christmas.
