What is it like to live in Vilnius? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, so this city is biggest and have a lot to offer to students. Here we have a lot places to go on weekends, like bars, pubs, clubs. It is also very beautiful and full of history city. It has amazing old town, foreign people likes to visit museums, galleries and so on. I strongly recommend it, if You want to meet some history and have a good time with many other students.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?

Like I said, here we have many bars, pubs, clubs. Erasmus students likes to party, so Vilnius has to offer it's best. Public transport is very comfortable and cheap for students. Also here is many entertainment places, shopping centers and many good things for free time.

How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?

I live in university's dormitory, so I have to pay for it about 40 EUR per month, and for other things, like food, parties and so on, about 200 EUR per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vilnius? Is there any advice you can give?

All students always can have place in dormitory, it is very cheap and comfortable, but if they want to live in apartment, they can find it quite fast, but it is expensive for students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Oh, Lithuania has many different traditional dishes, like "Cepelinai", "Kugelis", "Vėdarai" and many others. I know, that it sounds a little weird, but these dishes are sooo delicious. Also, here we have fast food restaurants - McDonald's, Hesburger, and many other kitchens - Chinese, Indian, Italian and so on... I personally like home made dishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vilnius?

Gedimina's Castle, Pilies street, Gedimina's street, Cathedral square, museums, an Old town small and tiny streets, Vilnius university's museum and library and many other places.

Is it good to eat out in Vilnius? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, people can find many places where to eat. I don't have favorite spot, because every time I am trying to visit different places. But I can say, where people like to go. It is places, like "Donut Lab", "Chili pizza", "Jurgis ir drakonas", "Radharanė", "La Crepe" and many others.

Is the nightlife good in Vilnius? Where is good to go?

Night life in Vilnius is very good. Students like to visit clubs - "Cocaine", "Buda", "Exit", also bars and pubs - "Republic", "Piano Man", "Gringo", "KAS KAS", "Liverpool Indie/Rock Bar" and many others. Everything is in the center so it is very easy to find new places.

What advice would you give future students heading to Vilnius?

Choose this city, and you will see how student's life can be very fun and full of experiences. If You'll stay here, try to visit as many as possible places and you will have a good time, meet many interesting and good people.
