What is it like to live in Vilna? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Vilnius is an amazing city, rich in history, with many cultural objects in the city center, as well as a bunch of clubbing and party options. Compared to central European countries it is rather cheap, although not everyone can handle Lithuanian weather. 100% recommend.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vilna?

Really damn good.

How much does it cost to live in Vilna?

I do not know an exact number but compared to Germany or the Netherlands at least twice cheaper.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vilna? Is there any advice you can give?

All universities in Lithuania offer dorm options, but I never had to look for accommodation in Vilnius so I am not an expert.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Lithuania (and Vilnius especially) is a very culturally diverse city when it comes to cuisine. Local Lithuanian food is not very popular amongst people (both native and foreigners), but there is a wide variety of international cuisines available. Groceries are also rather cheap in Lithuania.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vilna?

it really depends on personal preferences, but I would recommend exploring Užupis neighborhood, the whole old town and city centre. I also highly recommend travelling around the country and visiting the seaside, it is like nothing you have ever seen before.

yes, definitely. My top recommendation is Downtown Foodhall (A. Smetonos street 5, Vilnius) right in the city center, with a wide variety of foods to choose from.

Is the nightlife good in Vilna? Where is good to go?

Yes, clubs and bars are always popular among young people, with a variety of genres to choose from (from techno to EDM to pop music to reggaeton, everyone will find something).

What advice would you give future students heading to Vilna?

just do it
