Living in Vilnius is safe and cosy.
What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?
Studies, work, party.
How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?
Actually depends on how you wanna live. But it's not very expensive. It's very possible to find some good places to eat / drink for the low price.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vilnius? Is there any advice you can give?
There are a few ways:
- 1. You can rent a room in dormitory at your University.
- 2. Corner hotel is friendly for Erasmus student (a couple of years ago my boyfriend and a lot of his Italian friends was living there).
- 3. You can rent flat with some people in the old town or in different area. But for example if your University will be located in or near old town. I recommend you to live here. Cause old town is very nice, small and cosy. It's easy to reach everything you need from there.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Lithuanian cuisine is a little bit interesting. Sometimes people are surprised that Lithuanians eating pink cold soup (made of beetroots), yellow tomatoes, dishes with pork and potatoes, etc. However, the truth is that we have a lot of different cuisines in Vilnius and you can choose from our food till Indian, Asian, Italian, Russian and on.
What places would you recommend visiting in Vilnius?
Highly recommend to walk around the old town, here is many nice places to see... Three Crosses Hill, Gedimina's castle.
