What is it like to live in Vilnius? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I would strongly recommend to try living in Vilnius. Despite the fact city is modern, there is a famous Old town with its own history. There are wide variety of choises to spend a freetime, to chill out, city is always active, streets are full of poeple, all cafes are full of people on weekends.

Life is beutiful! :) Students always get special discounts (in cafes, public transport), entrances to the clubs with no fee and etc. Of course, students have to study, at least on exams session, but universities have a perfect conditions for studying.

How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?

Usualy foreigners say that is really cheap. It depends on everyone needs - living in a centre, outside of it, in a dorm, on eating habits.. but to sum up, don't worry, your money will be enough for the parties as well!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vilnius? Is there any advice you can give?

It depends on a location where would you like to live. Centre or more far away. But there are always lots of offers on the Internet. Just try to look and call for the owners! All of my friends foreigners did not have problems to find nice flats with an affordable price.

Yes yes and one more yes! Foreigners just love club "Salento", with italian owners. Every Tuesday there are special Erasmus parties. Also Cocainne club is working with erasmus theme. If you want to go to more "posh" club try "Disco Budha club", or "Exit" which is brand new. For russian music lovers we have "Marushka club".

where to for a drink? two main streets: Vilnius street and Islandijos street are perfect for pub crawling, there are plenty places to drink beer, coctails or wine.

If you want to see a whole Vilnius panoramic view, just go to Radisson Blu hotel, 22nd floor, they have unbelievable Sky Bar.

If you are coming for winter season - take warm clothes. In Spring you gonna need umbrella. Be ready for a cheap alcohol. Don't be mad about older people not speaking english. And just enjoy every second over there! I am sure you will:)
