Erasmus Experience in Vilnius, Lithuania by Miriam

What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?
The city is very cosy but still vibrant. There is a crazy amount of coffee shops in every street and they are mostly nice places to hang out with friends and have a cup of coffee or a piece of cake. The restaurants and pubs are also cool and you get most things for reasonable prices. That's why I spend a lot of time there.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Vilnius to other students?
Oh yes, it's a hidden treasure.
What is the food like?
Greasy and super good.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vilnius?
No, that was the easiest part. Just post in the ESN group.
How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?
In the city centre 200-300 euros. If you want to go out and stuff, rather don't take the dorm, cause there are no buses going and taxis every other night can be expensive as well. I think the city centre is still quite affordable.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I don't learn Lithuanian. Old people here will hate you for speaking English, but so what?
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vilnius?
"Snekutis" for Lithuanian food and beer, "Uzupis Picerija" for good pizza.
