Why did you choose to go to Vilnius, Lithuania?
I wanted to go to a city I wouldn't have gone on holiday like Spain or Italy and then Lithuania came up.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship lasted 5 months and was totally 750€.
What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?
Student lifestyle is very relaxed with a lot of free time.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Vilnius to other students?
No I wouldn't, because the schools are not so good and the dorms are very bad. However the city is nice.
What is the food like?
There is a supermarket with a lot of groceries, but not a lot of international products.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vilnius?
No it didn't.
How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?
My room was 300€ a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
It is very hard to learn Lithuanian for a lot of European countries. There were a few language courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vilnius from your city?
By plane you had tickets from 20€ without luggage.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vilnius?
There are a lot of places, you will find them.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vilnius?
There are a few good places, but especially an Italian pizza place. You can find it on Tripadvisor.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Mainly the Old Town.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Vilnius in the future?
Go there, but be aware you won't learn anything.
