Why did you choose to go to Vilnius, Lithuania?

I wanted to go to Eastern Europe and I didn't know anything about Lithuania, so I took the chance.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?

Quiet. There is lot of things organized by ESN for Erasmus students, but the local students don't party a lot.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vilnius to other students?

Yes, if you want to have a calm semester and enjoy travelling and sightseeing in Eastern Europe (travels to Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Nordic Countries are cheap).

What is the food like?

Merely based on potatoes and meat, it's a very "consistent" or heavy food but it's delicious!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vilnius?

I'm in a flat, it was not very difficult to find but you have to be careful, because most of the flat proposed on-line are located outside of the city.

How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?

It's cheap! A meal in a restaurant can cost easily less than 10€, the cigarettes cost 3€, and a pint of beer costs around 2€.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Lithuanian is not really an easy language, there are courses in Vilnius University.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vilnius from your city?

Plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vilnius?

Erasmus people go to "Salento" or "Cocain Pub".

To try Lithuanian food:

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything in Old Town is good to see.

I advice you to take some time in Uzupis neighbourhood, to climb to Gedimino Tower or the 3 crosses Hill...
