November in Vienna
This last month of November, I was lucky enough to be able to go to Vienna, travelling with my friends. Definitely due the the time of year we went, we suffered at the hand of the northern European climate, but, even so, Vienna was one of my favourite cities.
We got to see the famous winter markets that get put up during the winter months and they're Christmas themed, they're found in every corner of the city, wherever they could build a stall. We tried mulled wine, which, at first, didn't taste very good, but it's a hot drink and you'll end up quite enjoying it.
The transport was very easy to use and, even though the German signage can be less than helpful, English came to our rescue when we needed to ask for help.
Vienna, in general, is one of the most expensive cities I've ever been to, but if you know how to go about it and if you've already looked into the "cheap" places to go for a drink in the city, it won't be so expensive. Asking the young people around is something I'd recommend you do.
Regarding "things to see", Vienna is a city you have to spend more than a few days in. Although all of the cultural buildings are close by, everyone of the streets in Vienna are full of art. I don't remember even one section of street I walked through that hadn't been better than the previous section. The architecture is impressive, all of the buildings are different to one another and so it's very difficult to see the areas of different architecture and the typical places you have to see when you're there for less than two days.
One of the things I liked the most is the area of the city dedicated to urban art. It's a bridge that goes over a very small park with some little food places and terraces with lots of little coloured lights. The area itself is accessed by elevator but it's worth going up and seeing it.
Otherwise, it was an incredible trip to a city that I would definitely visit again.
