What is it like to live in Vienna? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The quality of life in Vienna is great! Although it is my hometown I always discover new places and activities. You are surrounded by beautiful architecture, arts, traditional coffee houses and nature.

I would recommend it, because I really love this city! There are so many things you can do in Vienna.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna?

Vienna has the biggest University located in a German-language area. There are many offers for students and a great party life.

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

I think I spend about 900, - a month for living, food and leisure time. But I have my own flat. It is less expensive to live in a shared apartment. I think you should calculate approximately 700, -.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna? Is there any advice you can give?

Don't search in September or February.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vienna?

Just walk through the inner districts (1-9), they are quite beautiful. I also recommend the 13th, 18th & 19th district! Also visit:

  • Museumsquartier,
  • Servietenviertel,
  • Naschmarkt,
  • Spittelberg,
  • Stadtpark,
  • Belvedere
  • and Schönbrunn.

In summer you can go swimming at Donauinsel.

Is it good to eat out in Vienna? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Restaurants:

  • Curry Insel,
  • Olivia Verde,
  • Pizza Mari,
  • Le Troquet,
  • Europa,
  • Nguyen's Pho House.

Is the nightlife good in Vienna? Where is good to go?

Yes, it is. I love to go to bars in the 7th district. There are many clubs around this area. The public transport is also good at night, so you can reach any club/bar within 30 minutes.

What advice would you give future students heading to Vienna?

Don't go to Starbucks or anything like that. You should drink your coffee in a traditional coffee house and enjoy the atmosphere.
