Experience in Vienna, Austria by Mihai
What is it like to live in Vienna? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Everything is taken care of, everything is organized and the people are polite and speak English well. Huge parks, lots of bicycles and bicycle lanes, runners and pigeons.
What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna?
There is everything you need in a 100 m radius (unless you are sitting in the middle of a park). There are many events, concerts, bars, restaurants, young people, foreign students, blonde girls...
How much does it cost to live in Vienna?
Like in any global city, it is expensive but the living standards are also higher. Renting a room/apartment in the city depends on the closeness to the center and the rent starts at around 250 euro. Food is also a bit expensive, especially the vegetables.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna? Is there any advice you can give?
Not really, if you know German, but even if you speak only English is ok. There are many websites you can search on as for example jobwohen and wg-gesucht.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Strangely I eat mostly kebabs and supermarket food.
What places would you recommend visiting in Vienna?
Everywhere you go you will find some very good places.
Is it good to eat out in Vienna? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
