What is it like to live in Vienna? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Vienna is an experience of its own. There are so many things one can do in this city, the list is rather big. It's a perfect place for both student life and adult life.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna?

It's great, there are a lot of students in Vienna. What makes Vienna stand out from a lot of other cities is that there are a lot of people from different countries and cultures that you can meet. This, in turn, makes the student life experience all the better. The studies (depending on what you study) can be very challenging at times, however, in the end, it does pay off.

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

Depending on where you live and how much you go out, it can range anywhere from 1000-2000 euros per month, that is including rent and other bills you might have to pay.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes, it is rather difficult to find accommodation in Vienna, my advice would be to start searching from early on so that you find a good deal and a nice place to live.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

As mentioned before, Vienna is a diverse place, inhabiting different cultures and people, therefore there is also a variety of dishes and food you can choose from. I personally am a fan of sushi and Italian dishes, and there are plenty of them in the city for very ideal prices.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vienna?

Vienna is a city of architecture, therefore there are a lot of places one can visit. I would recommend people to visit Stephansdohm, Belvedere Palace, Schönbrunn for sightseeing, and Schwedenplatz (2nd district) for a night out to grab some drinks.

Is it good to eat out in Vienna? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, there are very nice and quality places to eat in Vienna. My recommendations would be Hitomi (Nestroyplatz U1), Burgers Bar (Krieau U2), Crossfields (Karlsplatz U1) and 1516 (Karlsplatz U1)

Is the nightlife good in Vienna? Where is good to go?

Yes definitely, especially in terms of Bars it's great. Schwedenplatz (U1) is the location where most of the bars in Vienna are, however, there are nice places in Nussdorferstrasse (U6) in which people can drink and party. In terms of clubs, I would recommend Volkgarten (Volkstheatre U3), VieIPee (Messe-Prater U2) and PraterDome (Praterstern U1, U2)

What advice would you give future students heading to Vienna?

I would advise them to make friends and socialize as much as they study and work because one needs both for their future, and Vienna can offer both good studies and great friendships.
