What is it like to live in Vienna? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Great international city, very safe, first class place for people who like music.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna?

Busy, structured, lots of international students, good professor-student ratio in my courses (linguistics)

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

You get a room from 300-500 Eur all inclusive. Eating out is relatively cheap, many places offer daily plates for 7-10 Euros, large beer € 3,50-4,20.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes, especially in September and October. Best time to look for a room is summer!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Great. Try Wienerschnitzel, Leberkäse, Gulasch and Apfelstrudel. And Marillenknödel.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vienna?

St. Stephens, Schlönbrunn castle, Kahlenberg, Prater, Nasch market, Musikverein.

Is it good to eat out in Vienna? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Plachutta, Figlmüller, Schweizer Haus, coffee houses

Is the nightlife good in Vienna? Where is good to go?

Rather quiet, but safe.

What advice would you give future students heading to Vienna?

Be sure to attend opera house and concert halls. Get in touch with natives!
