If you plan to study in lets say winter semester, You have to start finding accommodation in March or April.
It is good to come direclty at dormitory to introduce yourself and ask for a accommodation. In Vienna there is a lots of dormitories and they are good fot student life according to price, accommodation, facilities, transportation, etc..

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In Venna you can find any kind of restaurants with different types of cuisine.
Also, it is very good if you have chance to cook for yourself. It is cheaper and it gives you fun, specially if your are at dormitory.

It is very good, but expensive for students to eat in a restaurants.

What advice would you give future students heading to Vienna?

Take a bike with you! This is the way of good transportation in Vienna. Also, the culture of Vienna town is in the spirit of bicycle ride.
