Erasmus Experience in Vienna, Austria by Nestor
Why did you choose to go to?
It's a central country in Europe. It's easy to travel to lots of different countries from it. It has a modern, technological and international atmosphere.
What is the student lifestyle like in?
At my university, the FH Technikum Wien, going on Erasmus there is very well promoted and, in general, it's not very hard to meet people there.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in?
It was easy for me, since I reserved the residence in advance, but even those who came without a place in a residences only needed 4 days to find somewhere to live.
How much does it cost to live in Viena?
It's not a cheap city if that's what you're looking for, but it's not too expensive. If you choose the right supermarket and don't live too luxuriously, it's not so expensive.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?
German is difficult. It's totally not true that it's similar to English, even so, you'll meet people in the same situation as you and if you want to, you can get a good level of German. I'd recommend coming having learnt some already.
Where would you recommend for a night out in?
Loco, Ride Club and Travel Shack are the classic places and they're cool.
